Students, Visitors, and Staff Enjoy Hike and Campfire
.
Tennessee Valley from Picnic Pavilion
Group members work their way through the bluff area.On Sabbath afternoon, October 24, students, staff members, and visitors enjoyed a hike through God’s nature. Leading the hike was Roger Westfall (vice-president for personnel), who took the group to the Picnic Pavilion at the edge of Laurelbrook’s area.

After resting there and enjoying the view from the pavilion of the Tennessee Valley, Mr. Westfall led the group down the slope and along the rocks of the bluff area. The leaf colors were vivid and made quite an impression on many people’s minds, the air was a little sharp and cold, and the friendliness of group members made for a very good afternoon.

Maudie Westfall and her helpers serve a picnic supper. After returning to campus and refreshing themselves, students, staff members, and visitors boarded vans for a ride to a field near the Picnic Pavilion. At the field, they found a campfire prepared by Robert Zollinger (retired Laurelbrook president) and a picnic supper prepared by Ruthie Zollinger with the help of Sharon Oxentenko and Mae Buckner.

After supper, the group gathered around the campfire, sang a few songs, heard two or three testimonies, and wrote problems they had had with people or things that they expected God would take of and threw the papers into the fire. After several short prayers, the group returned to the Laurelbrook campus.

Group hears testimonies and sings songs around the campfire.
