Academic Classes
.

The basic academic classes offered at Laurelbrook School are nearly the same as any U.S. high school would offer (with the addition of Bible in all four years) – English, math, physical science, computer skills in the freshmen year; English, Bible, biology, world history, and math in the sophomore year; English, Bible, math, American history, and chemistry in the junior year; and English, Bible, government, health, physics, economics, personal finance, and computer literacy in the senior year. A number of electives are usually offered for all students  such as choir, band, music lessons, Spanish,  and publications (yearbook).

Within these classes, there is a three-track academic program - college-prep curriculum (CP), general high school curriculum (GHS), and vocational. Details for these three programs are spelled out in the general student handbook. Unless otherwise specified, all students are considered college-prep students.

Since Laurelbrook School has a dual high school curriculum for all students - vocational training as well as academic work, students work with their academic subjects half of the day and learn work skills in the vocational training areas the other half. Two of the four student classes – seniors and freshmen, for example – generally attend regular academic classes in the morning and put in training time on the vocational program in the afternoon. The other two student classes – sophomores and juniors, for example – have usually done their vocational training time in the morning and attend regular academic classes in the afternoon.
